Eco-sustainable actions that make the difference, day after day

It is nature that has given us life. It is nature that offers us the ocean. We owe everything to nature. Respecting land and sea by improving our environmental performance everyday is an obligation that we feel as entrepreneurs, citizens and guests on this planet.

This is why we have been engaged for years in an ecological revolution and we have achieved an extraordinary limitation of environmental impact both in our production processes and packaging materials.

Our commitment is embodied in a multi-year sustainability/circularity programme that we have called ARD, after the 3 essential phases:

ABOLITION
In 2018, polystyrene packaging was eliminated from the production cycle. A result obtained well in advance of initial forecasts, which predicted total elimination by 2020.

REDUCTION
The programme bore its first fruits in 2017-2019:
2017-2018 - 35 thousand kg less plastic produced against an increase of units sold;
2018-2019 - 14 thousand kg less plastic produced for the same number of units sold.

DEVELOPMENT
In 2017/2018 Arbi completed important investments to improve efficiency of production lines. During 2019 efforts were focused on the recyclability of the product and on packaging products from recycled sources.

Today we are working to finance CONAI (Italian packaging consortium) projects, to develop agreements with COREPLA (Italian consortium for the collection, recycling and recovery of plastic packaging), to increase the percentage of selected and recyclable materials, and to extend the MSC and ASC Sustainable Fishing certification to as many products as possible.

We have improved and implemented our procedures for selecting suppliers, raw materials, packaging and tools necessary for our production cycles, making use of the best international scientific research and technology institutes.
In November 2019, in recognition of attention paid to sustainability issues in the development of our packaging, we received the “CONAI prevention” award for packaging with reduced environmental impact.
